Distracted driving awareness month

Orlando, Florida – As part of Distracted Driving Awareness Month, the Florida Highway Patrol is shedding light on the alarming increase in distracted driving incidents across the state.

Florida’s drivers have long been a topic of conversation, and a recent report has now identified Jacksonville as the epicenter of concerning driving behavior. Real Estate Witch’s findings have once again labeled Jacksonville as the worst city for drivers in Florida, a dubious distinction it has held for two consecutive years. Notably, three other Florida cities also ranked in the top 10, solidifying the Sunshine State’s reputation as the “worst state for drivers.”

Despite efforts to raise awareness and encourage responsible driving, Jacksonville’s motorists seem undeterred. The report reveals a worsening trend in their driving habits, compounded by the city’s persistently high rates of alcohol-related traffic fatalities and the presence of one of the nation’s most hazardous highways, Interstate 95.

The compilation of this report involved extensive analysis of various factors, including annual traffic fatalities, alcohol-related incidents, bicycle fatalities, insurance premiums, Google Trends data, and hazardous road conditions.

Real Estate Witch’s rankings of cities with the worst drivers in the U.S. include:

  1. Jacksonville, FL
  2. Tampa, FL
  3. Memphis, TN
  4. Riverside, CA
  5. Orlando, FL
  6. Louisville, KY
  7. Miami, FL
  8. Nashville, TN
  9. Sacramento, CA
  10. Oklahoma City, OK

Conversely, New York City emerged as the city with the best drivers, according to the report.

Bogin, Munns & Munns urges Floridians to recognize the severity of the distracted driving epidemic and take proactive steps to prioritize safety on the roads. To read the full report and learn more about the implications of distracted driving, click here.
