I am now seventy years old… and on this special day would tell the world that I was blessed with a mother that taught great lessons by the way she lived her life. Her relationship with my father was exemplary. I never heard them raise their voices at each other. There was always tenderness and encouragement found in their relationship. I am still trying to be like both of them.
Mother, was a bit on the quiet side but what she did spoke louder than anything she could say. As I look at my professional life I will always be thankful for her example of composure even in difficult situations. She would often say, “Ranier, if you cannot say anything nice, do not say anything at all.” She taught me that there is never a place for demeaning remarks and unkind professional behavior.
Mother always made me feel like I could do anything as long as I was willing to pay the price. Sacrifice and hard work were elements my mother was very familiar with. Even in difficult times, she was always caring and as one of her children, I always felt great love from her.

The sacrifice you give to help provide for your children is a great example of love and tenderness. I personally believe that it must surely be difficult to balance the need to work and the natural tenderness every mother has to be with their children and to nurture them. You are a hero to your children. I expect there are times when it does not feel that way… but trust me. I honestly believe they look forward to hearing your voice when you get home after a long day at work.
