Meet John Bolanovich, rock & roll star & our featured attorney of the week at Bogin, Munns & Munns.
After an extensive career in the hospitality industry (during which I held various executive-level positions for several leading hotel corporations), I parlayed my knowledge of management and corporate decision-making into a legal career representing owners and operators of hospitality industry operations in their labor and employment law disputes/litigation. I was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and received my Juris Doctor from the University of Miami School of Law in May of 1998 with various honors including membership within the University of Miami International and Comparative Law Review (published Intertanko v. Lowry: The Lost Argument, University of Miami International Comparative Law Review, Volume 7, 1999). I have worked for large and small national law firms as well as Florida state-wide firms. While in law school, I clerked for the Miami District Office of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
I was inspired to become an attorney because it is intellectually challenging work that involves helping people. My favorite part of being an attorney is meeting new clients and providing them excellent service. I continue to litigate labor and employment law matters while broadening my practice to include a variety of general civil and commercial law matters representing both plaintiffs and defendants, including class action litigation in real estate and construction defect claims. My greatest strength as an attorney is the ability to understand the client’s needs and guide them in the proper direction in a manner that results in prompt economical resolutions of their legal issues.

I have addressed attendees of the Florida Restaurant Association several times on relevant legal issues at their Annual Conventions and Trade Shows. I have published articles discussing legal matters in trade journals such as the Florida Hotel & Motel Association Journal and the Florida Restaurateur. I have been a frequent presenter for the National Business Institute’s seminars on employment law and litigation practices. I previously served as an adjunct professor at the University of Central Florida and Valencia Community College and as the Director of Practicum Education at Johnson & Wales University in North Miami.
I live in Windermere, Florida with my wife and two children. People may be surprised to discover that my first career was in the music field as an entertainer. If I didn’t decide to practice law, I would have become a rock and roll drummer.
