Biography
I believe my greatest strength as an attorney is that I personally care about my clients successfully reaching their goals.
I was born in Sewickley, Pennsylvania. I was raised in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, where I graduated from Stranahan High School. After receiving my Bachelors of Aerospace Engineering degree from Georgia Tech, I worked in the aerospace industry designing military aircraft, and instructing astronauts in the operation of the space shuttle. I practiced as an aerospace engineer for 8 years before becoming an attorney.
While working at NASA, I earned my law degree from the University of Houston. I became an attorney because I recognized that successful projects depend on understanding and working within the law.
I started my legal career practicing aviation law in Dallas. Upon relocating to Orlando in 1989, I began practicing in the area of construction law. My practice areas have expanded over the years to include complex construction matters, business and corporate law, commercial leases, land development and real estate transactions. I have represented various business and corporate clients including landowners, design professionals, developers, contractors, doctors, financial institutions, franchisees, airlines and aircraft maintenance facilities.
My construction law experience ranges from earthwork projects to large commercial structures. My commercial law experience includes contract negotiation and litigation, intellectual property issues and regulatory matters. As a result of my commercial law experience, I now also represent professional guardians, rendering advice on matters affecting assets of the wards, filing pleadings and representing the guardian before the courts.
Being part of bringing a client’s matter to a successful conclusion is what I love most about being an attorney.
I now apply my flight instructor experience as a hobby with the Porsche Club of America and the BMW Car Club of America instructing others in the art of high-performance driving within the safe confines of race tracks around the Southeast. I also look forward to playing in my weekly ice hockey game with friends.
