I see ads and billboards, radio, television ads from medical providers, from pain clinics, from doctors that say, “If you’ve been hurt, come to *my* clinic and I’ll get you a lawyer!”
What in the world?? Why would you want to go to your doctor to get a referral about a lawyer that you want to represent you?
I’m speaking in generalities, but that is suspicious to me.
What is the motivation of a pain clinic or a medical clinic of any sort to be advertising that they can get you a lawyer? Is there a relationship there?
I’ve practiced for many, many years. We have relationships with doctors that are capable. We’re happy when they want to send their patient, who has a legitimate claim, to us for representation.
But I don’t know any that we deal with that would advertise, “If you’ve been hurt, call me and then I’ll get you a lawyer.” It’s just questionable in my opinion.
What somebody really needs is an attorney that they have determined– independently (they’re smart!) *independently*– whether he’s qualified, whether he’s aggressive, whether he’s the kind of person that will keep them informed. They ought to go meet [them]. We invite anybody who is considering our representation to come see us! Meet us face to face. Look at our qualifications! Ask about our qualifications! Ask the judges! I mean, whatever! Do your own independent study! This may be your only case!
And it is difficult because many people have never really had the need to have an attorney. I mean there are some people who deal with attorneys all the time and if they’ve been involved in an automobile accident or something they know who to go to.
”
We invite anybody who is considering our representation to come see us! Meet us face to face. Look at our qualifications! Ask about our qualifications!
But for the most part, people who’ve been involved in automobile accidents or malpractice claims or workers compensation claims this may well be their first brush with the law, and it just bothers me to see some manipulations take place to align medical service with lawyers.
Do your own research. Find out for yourself who you want to represent you.
